LEAPING INTO LITERACY
Leaping into Literacy is CCSWFL’s newest opportunity to volunteer. If you love children and love to read become a Literacy Leader and spend some time reading to children. Children love to listen to a good story (don’t we all?) and what better way to instill the love of reading in a child and start them on their way to a lifelong hobby than to read those favorite stories to them?
RECEPTIONIST /CLERICAL
Are you a “people” person? Do you have the gift of gab and a friendly voice? Do you have a talent for meeting and greeting the public or do you enjoy doing office work and working on the computer? Our child care centers are frequently in need of someone to answer the phone, greet guests, do basic office work and filing.
LIGHT MAINTENANCE
Are you the handyman type? Child care centers, like homes, are in need of constant maintenance. We need volunteers who have basic knowledge in making simple repairs to help out our maintenance crew in keeping things running smoothly.
LANDSCAPING
Do you have a green thumb? Do you have a knack for planting the right plant in the right place? We want the entrances of our child care centers to be as warm and welcoming as possible. If you love to dig in the dirt and plant trees and flowers, we have a job for you!
SPECIAL EVENTS
Do you like to plan parties and events? Are you a talented organizer? CCSWFL is looking for volunteers to help plan special events, fundraisers, and conferences. This is a fun way to spend some volunteer hours!
ONE DAY EVENTS
Child Care of Southwest Florida has volunteer opportunities for “one day events”. We host one day work events, usually on weekends, that include painting, landscaping, or other work that needs to be done that can’t be done during the week. If you would like to volunteer with CCSWFL but are not available on weekdays, this could be just the thing for you.
GRANT RESEARCH AND WRITING
Do you like to conduct research and write? We are always looking for appropriate grants for which to write. If you enjoy doing research on the web, and/or writing for grant money and sponsorship opportunities, we would love your help. This can be done in the comfort of your own home.
All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and consent to fingerprinting and a Local Law Enforcement background check if requested.
