Preparing children for the future and empowering parents to excel at
work and school

Child Care of Southwest Florida is preparing children for the future in a variety of ways. First, we manage five high-quality, non-profit learning centers in Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, and LaBelle. Second, we oversee and coordinate the DCF’s Florida Child Care Mandated Training and Competency Exams in our five-county region. Third, we administer the USDA Child Care Food Programs in 28 counties throughout the state. Finally, we passionately rally our community to support early childhood education, working daily to fulfill our mission, which is to strengthen and enhance the lives of children and their families.

The Importance of Early Childhood Education

Why is early childhood education so important? Because research shows it improves a child’s chance of success in school and throughout their lives. Daycare alone can’t do what a high-quality program does, which is to prepare children with the social and academic skills they need to thrive. Additionally, affordable child care enables parents to work and provide for their families. Unfortunately, not all families can afford tuition for a preschool education, but we can help!

What Our Families Say

Being a single mother with very few people I trust to take care of my child, this scholarship has meant me returning to work full time knowing that my daughter is able to be with the teachers who have helped raise her and mold her into the beautiful little soul she is. I’m excited that she will have the summer to refresh her mind and make sure she has the best foot forward when she attends kindergarten next fall! I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity!

Why Our Donors Give

Over the years it’s been a privilege to partner with Child Care of Southwest Florida in their ongoing efforts to bring quality, loving care to the youth of our Southwest Florida neighborhoods. Their focus on early development is instrumental not only to the well-being of the children themselves, but also to the families helped by these efforts, in turn helping our community to become an even better place.
