A Fort Myers native whose diverse community service, housing initiatives and real estate experience underscores his commitment to making a positive impact in his community. It is Mark’s passion that guides his leadership, as our Board Chair, and aligns him with our mission to turn lives around by supporting early education opportunities for low-income families.
Richard Akin
RICHARD AKIN, VICE-CHAIR
Retired and former President/CEO of Health Care Network
Richard is recognized as one of Southwest Florida’s leading child advocates. He has devoted his career to work on behalf of SWFL’s uninsured and underserved children and create one standard of care for all. It is this dedication, to children and families, that inspires his continued support that now includes helping secure early education scholarships for families in need. “Children are my passion; they are our future and when you change a kid’s life you can impact generations to come.”
Dr. Barbara Mundy

Hendry County School District – Director of Federal Programs
Barbara has 29 years of experience in the public school setting. Barbara has brought a literacy bus to her district that can be used for community events and will make special appearances at early learning centers, when requested, where children can receive free books at family engagement events. She has spearheaded Footsteps2Brilliance, an award winning and bilingual early literacy program in Hendry County, to close the early learning gap that often makes it difficult for some children to succeed in school and in life. She brings a wealth of information and experience as we strive to provide high-quality early education and ensure our children are prepared for kindergarten.

Retired Executive Director, Goodwill SWFL
Thomas brings a companywide approach to training and staff development. He shares his professional experience and recommends management action plans to help staff and the families we serve discover their full potential and overcome barriers to employment.
John Bodner

Lee County Clerk of the Court & Comptroller
Currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Lee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. In his role, Bodner is responsible for overseeing special projects designed to enhance the efficiency of office operations. He is also responsible for identifying new legislative initiatives and the implementation of newly signed legislation for the organization. We welcome his professional management strategies to maintain our healthy and sustainable budget.
William (Bill) Emo

Key Benefit Administrators- Vice President
Bill is nationally recognized for his expertise in complex healthcare administration, employee benefits and risk management. His experience drives his advocacy to positively impact our community, help increase educational opportunities for at-risk children and identify barriers that limit a family’s access to healthcare services. He was originally drawn to CCSWFL to spend time and support his youngest daughter when she volunteered to read and play with the children at the Joseph H. Messina Children’s Center. “I eventually saw the mission and passion of the staff, its impact on the community and was inspired to help plan their first charity golf tournament. It has been an honor to be invited to serve on this BOD and to make a difference.”

Landon has been a part of his company’s vast growth from a team of six to more than 200 employees across four office locations. He brings his creative approach to expansion for potential opportunities in our early education programs, services, and locations. Giving back to his community is deeply important. Landon also runs the Scotlynn Community Outreach Program and encourages employees to complete at least 21 hours of community service per calendar year. He believes “if you help everyone around you get what they’re looking for from life, life will give you everything you’re looking for.”

Martin is a transportation and durable medical equipment provider, focusing on outstanding, affordable, and efficient services. Martin is passionate about improving the quality of service, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of his patients and staff, and building long-term relationships with his partners and stakeholders. He is dedicated to making a difference and sharing his philosophy with CCSWFL - “our collective efforts, no matter how small, have the power to create a positive change and shape a brighter future for all.”
Michael Davis
MICHAEL DAVIS
Co-Owner, Worthington Realty
Michael is co-owner of Worthington Realty in Fort Myers, where he leads market research and agent development. He is also a Gallup®-Certified Strengths Coach who helps real estate professionals and business leaders build careers grounded in their natural strengths. His work centers on helping people understand how they best contribute, which is what drew him to CCSWFL's mission of giving children the foundation to do the same. Strong communities start with people, young and old, doing work that fits who they are.
Susana Davis
SUSANA DAVIS
Co-Owner, Worthington Realty
Susana is co-owner of Worthington Realty in Fort Myers and a CPA with more than 20 years of experience in real estate and finance. Before Worthington, she spent 12 years in commercial real estate private equity. As a mother of three and an active member of the Southwest Florida community, Susana believes education and knowledge create opportunities that empower children and families. She is committed to supporting organizations that strengthen the community and is honored to serve on the CCSWFL Board of Directors.
Eric Lane
ERIC LANE
Director of Institutional Advancement
Eric leads the foundation’s efforts to inspire and steward philanthropic investment through the development of Donor Advised Funds and Corporate Philanthropy initiatives. He helps individuals, families, and businesses align giving with community impact and supports strategic investments in Southwest Florida nonprofits. Previously, Eric spent nine years as Director of Major Gifts for The Salvation Army of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties. A dedicated volunteer, he supports youth programs, food pantry efforts, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, and serves on The Dubin Center board. Eric is eager to bring his fundraising expertise, nonprofit leadership, and commitment to youth and family-focused services.
Ryan Swick
RYAN SWICK
An attorney focused on commercial real estate transactions, leasing, and litigation, Ryan began his career with the Florida Department of Children and Families, Children's Legal Services, where he saw firsthand the challenges local families face. That experience, along with his volunteer work for Fort Myers nonprofits, aligns him with our mission to support early education for low-income families.
