The Food Service Program Director will work under the supervision of the CEO and will supervise the Food Service Specialist.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

1. Responsible for oversight of Child Care Food Service Program ensuring that all program goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
2. Manages the Food Service Program Staff ensuring record keeping, monitoring, and reimbursements are completed without error and on a timely basis.
3. Ensures that Food Service Specialists monitor all Childcare Home Providers, AMP (After Meals Program), and Childcare Center clients.
4. Assures all staff provide excellent customer service to client agencies.
5. Oversees all monthly reimbursements to FDCH and Unaffiliated Centers and AMP Programs.
6. Review all visits, technical assistance, customer service efforts, and essential files kept by Food Service Specialists.
7. Oversees all training for Family Childcare Homes and Childcare Centers.
8. Renews budgets for Family Childcare Homes and Childcare Centers annually.
9. Meet with vendors to negotiate the lowest price possible for products and services.
10. Meets with the Nutritionist from the food vending companies to assist in menu planning for the centers on a regular basis.
11. Manage the four CCFP programs: Unaffiliated Centers, Homes, AMP and Directly Operated across Florida.
12. Submit monthly claims for the programs above in MIPS system.
13. Schedule monitoring visits among staff and review visits.
14. Prepare for annual audit in 2nd quarter with Dept. of Health
15. Manage staff to conduct training for all providers several times a year.
16. Handle disputes with providers which could include improper record keeping and termination from program.
17. Attend annual CCFP – Dept of Health Conference
18. Review budgets for the four programs as prepared by CCSWFL Accounting Team
19. Conducts trainings and ensures proper topics are presented to all Center Directors.
20. Schedules all Food Service employees monitoring schedules.
21. Make Contracts and share necessary information with vendors.
22. Ensures all bid processes are complete, ethical, and within the required specifications.
23. Attends all required training.
24. When disputes arise that cannot be settled by the food service specialist, the program manager will attempt to settle such disputes.
25. Meetings will be held as necessary with the program coordinators from other departments and other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the CCFP.
26. Write reports as requested.
27. Provider recruitment.
28. Maintain accuracy of data.
29. Special projects as required.
30. Perform other job-related duties as necessary.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with training in food and nutrition and or five years of acceptable experience of food is preferred. Other qualifications may include a BA in Home economics, dietetics, nursing, or social work.
• Proficient in all MICROSOFT OFFICE program suite modules
